We understand that different families have different needs and each student is following his own unique path.  Our consulting packages are designed to individualize the experience and to provide each student and family with the help they may need.  To provide one-on-one guidance and allow us to meet individual needs, we limit the number of students in each class, providing a concierge college counseling experience. Our packages include:

Comprehensive College Counseling Package

Our comprehensive package provides help throughout the college admissions process, starting as early as freshman year of high school and running until high school graduation. Depending upon individual needs and desires, this package can include:
  • Choosing an appropriate high school curriculum
  • Selecting extracurricular activities
  • Reviewing academic records (transcripts and testing) to identify strengths and weaknesses
  • Career guidance based on interest, personality and attributes
  • Crafting a productive summer
  • Selecting admissions tests – SAT or ACT, subject tests, AP or IB exams
  • Developing a test-taking plan and schedule; advising on test preparation options
  • Considering test-optional admissions
  • Planning for college visits
  • Using college visits to help students develop a list of appropriate colleges ranging from “likelies” to “reaches”, revising and refining this list over time as students gain a clear understanding of their desires and needs
  • Create a strategy for maximizing admission chances by deciding when and how to apply to each college
  • Prepare for college interviews
  • Develop a resume/activity list for use on applications and job search
  • Discuss choosing recommenders/ helping recommenders know you
  • Put together a realistic time-line for application completion
  • Brainstorming effective essay topics that reveal the unique qualities of the student
  • Guiding essay revisions through suggestions. While we will edit writing, students are responsible for writing their own essays.
  • Review all applications with the student
  • Advice on handling wait-lists or deferrals
  • Educate the family about financial aid and merit scholarships
  • Assist with final college choice
  • Discuss transition to college

Senior Express Plan

This limited package is available to rising seniors who have taken at least one SAT or ACT and have visited a number of colleges and considered what is most important to their future educational needs. The package includes:
  • 10 hours of individual meetings with an advisor to discuss any aspect of the college admissions process
  • Review student’s academic profile including transcript, rigor of curriculum, test scores
  • Review student’s initial college list and offer suggestions to maximize opportunities
  • Two small group sessions – one to brainstorm essays and begin the writing process and one to complete the Common Application or Coalition Application
  • The assistance of our essay coach to guide student through revisions of the college essay and supplementary essays
